Welcome to

Finalist – New Zealand Geographic Photographer of the Year

I’m honoured to announce that I’m a finalist for in the 2016 New Zealand Geographic – Photographer of the Year competition.

This was an incredible Aurora Australis display from near my house in Kingston, overlooking Lake Wakatipu. The moon was setting with the Milky Way core just above. Once the bright moon faded behind the Eyre Mountains, it revealed an even brighter and colourful Aurora display. At the start of the clip, there was a Proton Arc, which is rarely seen as it danced across the sky towards the moon quite far west.

My wife Katrina won the 2010 New Zealand Geographic – Young Photographer of the Year with a beautiful nature portfolio of images. Click here for her stunning set of images.

Be sure to watch in full screen 4K/1080P

The finalists can be seen here: https://www.nzgeo.com/photography/photocomp/
With a People’s Choice vote happening over the next few weeks, and the awards night in late October in Auckland. Good luck to all the other finalists!

Queenstown Photography Tours

Hi there, we’ve just rebuilt our Queenstown Photography Tours website and this is the first blog post. Well, what should we share here?
How about a timelapse with hundreds of images.

Over the coming months we’ll share the latest news, adventures, tutorials and beautiful photos of Queenstown. Get in contact to book your own photography tour. You could witness an incredible sunrise such as this:

Queenstown Photography Tours are led by myself, Warren Williams (a full time wedding and landscape photographer) (Williams Photography – Queenstown Wedding Photographers)
My photography passion started with an adventure across the South Island in 1996. I’m now very fortunate to be living amongst the mountains and just a stone throw away from Lake Wakatipu.

I’m fully licensed to run tours with the New Zealand Transport Agency. I’m also a qualified and accredited photographer through the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography (NZIPP) and have won a number of international awards.

The idea of Queenstown Photography Tours is to share my passion for the rich New Zealand landscape, love of road trips and adventures in helicopters. There’s some big things planned for 2017, including multi day South Island photo safaris around my favourite places. Get in touch to register your interest or come along on a Queenstown day trip.
